PACCAR’s Q2 2025 Earnings: What to Expect

Valued at $49.8 billion by market cap, PACCAR Inc. (PCAR) is a global leader in the design, manufacture, and distribution of premium light-, medium-, and heavy-duty commercial trucks under the Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF brands. Headquartered in Bellevue, Washington, PACCAR also operates through its Parts division, offering aftermarket components, and Financial Services, providing leasing and financing to customers and dealers across 26 countries

The company is expected to release its Q2 2025 earnings before the market opens on Tuesday, July 22. Ahead of this event, analysts project PCAR to report a profit of $1.29 per share, down 39.4% from $2.13 per share reported in the year-ago quarter. While the company has missed the Street's bottom-line estimates in three of the past four quarters, it surpassed the expectations on another occasion.

For the current year, analysts forecast PACCAR to report an EPS of $5.72, down 27.6% from $7.90 reported in fiscal 2024. However, in fiscal 2026, its earnings are expected to rebound 16.1% year-over-year to $6.64 per share.

PCAR stock has plunged 7.7% over the past 52 weeks, trailing the S&P 500 Index’s ($SPX13.6% gain and the Industrial Select Sector SPDR Fund’s (XLI21.1% returns during the same time frame.

PACCAR reported its FY2025 first-quarter earnings on Apr. 29, and its shares declined 1.9%. Its revenue of $7.44 billion came slightly above estimates but down from the prior year. Its adjusted net income was $769.6 million ($1.46 per share). The company’s Parts segment posted record revenue of $1.69 billion, and its Financial Services division delivered a 6% increase in pretax income to $121.1 million. 

Operating cash flow remained strong at $910 million, while PACCAR continued to invest heavily in innovation, with over $287 million spent on capital projects and R&D, underscoring its commitment to advanced powertrains, electrification, and global expansion.

Analysts' consensus view on PCAR stock is cautious, with a "Hold" rating overall. Out of 16 analysts covering the stock, opinions include four "Strong Buys," ten "Holds," and two "Strong Sells.” Its mean price target of $98.07 suggests a 3.2% upside potential from current price levels.
